Mid-winter social events

Anglican Parish at Amberley LOGOI have just been and bought two tickets to the ‘Spice up your Winter Lunch’. Have you got yours yet? A mid-winter social event after church this Sunday will be just the thing to cheer us up when the weather is conspiring against us. I look forward to meeting up not only with my fellow parishioners from Amberley and Leithfield, but also our friends from St Barnabas Anglican Church in Woodend. See you there.

Video gem #1

‘Some thoughts on kindness’
This video published on YouTube is only two minutes long but quite thought-provoking, especially the final word. It’s an animated adaptation of a commencement speech given by author George Saunders at Syracuse University in May 2013. The wonderful advertisement-free review site www.brainpickings.org drew attention to the video this week along with an illustrated book based on the speech that has just been published.
